Area Roundup: Barnette wins junior tennis tourney

Spartanburg's Benjamin Barnette won first place in the Boys 14-and-under division at Sea Pines Rosie Gwynn Junior Championships on Hilton Head Island. Barnette defeated Jacob Behal of Simpsonville 7-5, 6-2 in the finals.http://dwb.islandpacket.com/sports/local/story/6707114p-5979870c.html
HIGH SCHOOL
2011- 12th grade- played 1st position on the Spartanburg High School Varsity Tennis team- Record of 20-1 (singles)- He finish in Second Place in the South Carolina High School Singles Tournament- He received All-Region III-AAAA for the sixth year in a row- He also made All-State for 4th year in a row.
2010- 11th grade- played 1st position on the Spartanburg High School Varsity Tennis team- Record of 21-1 (singles)- He finish in Second Place in the South Carolina High School Singles Tournament- He received All-Region II-AAAA for the 5th year in a row- He also made All-State for third year in a row.
2009- 10th grade- played 2nd position on the Spartanburg High School Varsity Tennis- Record of 19-1 (singles) and 6-0 (number #1 doubles)- He received All-Region II- AAAA for the 4th year in a row. He also made All-State for second year in a row.
2008- 9th grade- played 2nd position on the Spartanburg High School Varsity Tennis- Record of 22-2- his high school team made it to the Upper State (Semi-Final) AAAA State Championship- He received All-Region II- AAAA for the third year in a row.
