Rome Level 2 Photos

Players from 26 states plus the District of Columbia converged on the 51-court tennis center in Rome, Ga., for one of thirty-three USTA Level 2s in mid-May. Atlanta ITF Photo Gallery

The Atlanta ITF played earlier this Fall featured finals that were All-American. In the boys' singles final, No. 4 seed Andrew Delgado (High Point, N.C.) defeated Tygen Goldammer (Estero, Fla.) 6-2, 6-1, while 12th-seeded Cleo Hutchinson (Santa Barbara, Calif.) defeated Kayla Chung (Philadelphia, Pa.) 6-4, 6-4 for the girls' title.

The final Level 4 National of 2022 in North Georgia was played at the beautiful 50-court Rome complex in October. In-state athletes Walker Allen (Cumming) and William Luke (Athens) won singles titles in the Boys 18s and 16s, respectively. On the girls' side, Reese Sager (Waxhaw, N.C.) won the 18s championship, while Yenna Park (Okemos, Mich.) took the 16s.

Images from the Girls 18 and 16 Nationals

The USTA Billie Jean King Girls' 16 and 18 National Championships were held at the Barnes Tennis Center in early August. 4th seeded Eleana Yu (Mason, OH) won the 18s - along with a wild card into the main draw of the US Open Tennis Championships. 9th seeded Alyssa Ahn (San Diego, CA) won the 16s championship on her home courts. Photographer David Kenas was on site for the entire event.

Action Shots from the US Open
As always, Colette Lewis of ZooTennis.com provided strong coverage of this year's US Open Junior Championships in New York. The singles competition produced an historic winner in Alexandra Eala of the Philippines and a second straight title for Spain by Martin Landaluce. Cool weather welcomed the best boys in the US to the Nationals in Kalamazoo, Mich. The tournament had frequent delays and match postponements, pushing the Boys' 18s championship match until Monday. 16-year-old lefty Learner Tien defeated UGA commit Ethan Quinn in four sets - 7-6(7), 7-6(3) 5-7, 6-3. The Boys' 16s was an all-Florida final that was moved indoors - where 14-year-old Darwin Blanch defeated Calvin Baierl 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 for the gold ball. Check out action shots from the event ...

Images from the USTA L4 National Open in Rome
Rome Tennis Center was a host to the USTA National L4 Open BG18-16 the middle of July. Two players from Mount Pleasant, SC won their age divisions -- Otto Sewell (B18) and Mia Robinson (G16). The Boys' 16s was won by Sunay Iyer (Alpharetta, GA) and the Girls' 18s was won by Kirsten Woods (Blacksburg, VA). TRN photographer Bill Kallenberg was on site to capture action shots from this event.

Georgia Junior Open Photos
The beautiful 51-court Rome Tennis Center at Berry College was home to the Georgia Junior Open that began its rich history in 1955 featuring both boys and girls in the 12s through 18s divisions. Past champions include Donna Floyd Fales, Charlie Pasarell, Zan Guerry, and John Callen. Photographer Bill Kallenberg was on hand to capture the action.
