Had to pull out of Tennessee Qualifier and Southern Closed in 2009 after three matches due to recurring lower back issue - same injury that took me out of high school regionals and state; won two rounds in main draw of both
Consolation finalist of Boys’ 14’s and Boys’ 16’s Tennessee Qualifier
Won 2 main draw matches in Boys’ 18’s Tennessee Qualifier before injury withdrawal
Won 2 main draw matches in 18’s Southern Closed before injury withdrawal
Advanced to Quarterfinal of Consolation in 14’s Southern Closed (won two main draw matches)
Advanced to Qualifying Quarters of Consolation in 16’s Southern Closed both years (first year won two main draw matches, 2nd year won one main draw)
Won doubles in TN State Open Junior Clay (southern L4) – partner Brandon Fickey, in Sept. 2008
Advanced to Finals in KRC Mid-Winter (Southern L3) – partner Stephen Crofford, in January, 2009
Won two matches to qualify for Cincinatti National Father/Son doubles in 2008 and advanced to the quarterfinals - Alex was youngest son to play in the tournament
