Laura Chapman was chosen as Junior League Player of the Year (2009) by CORTA at the Appreciation Banquet on May 12th for her outstanding play at the Georgia League Championship in Macon, Ga. and the Southern Championship in Mobile, Al. last year.


Northland Neighbors August 6, 2008

The Columbus Regional Tennis Association's (CORTA) 18-and-under advanced level team won the 2008 Junior Team Tennis state championship in Macon. The team played three round-robin matches and a semifinals match, then beat Atlanta-Derosa in the finals. Team members at the event were Laura Chapman, Katie Gee, Henssey Ngo, Christian Garay, Adam Sexton, Kevin Jacobson, Marcos Rivera, Blake Hudson and Shaan Arora.

Laura Chapman won the Girls' 16s Singles Consolation in the Georgia State Open Clay Court Championships at the Country Club of Columbus. Laura lost to tournament champion, Bailey W. Dodge of Lawrenceville, GA in the main draw, and then proceeded to win five matches and take the consolation title.
