Commitment Comments: Ryan Lipman Chooses Commodores
by
Colette Lewis, 26 June 2008
"When I stepped on campus, it just felt right," said blue chip recruit Ryan Lipman of his recent decision to join the Vanderbilt Commodores in the fall of 2009. "I knew people and I love the city of Nashville. It just felt perfect."
Lipman, despite living only 25 minutes from the Southeastern Conference's only private university, had not actually toured the Vanderbilt campus before, so his unofficial visit earlier this year was similar to those he made to
Virginia,
Georgia and
Georgia Tech, the other schools he seriously considered.
"I met with a couple of academic advisors to get to know the curriculum, I hung out with the guys, got to know them better, and talked a lot with the coaches," said Lipman, who also attended two home dual matches and two college classes during his weekend at Vanderbilt.
"I sat in on a history class and a business class and both were really interesting - great teachers and it was just fun."
