Meet The Assistant: Michigan's Teryn Ashley-Fitch

They fill a crucial role in every college program. They juggle multiple responsibilities and put in long hours behind the scenes. They arrive early to hit balls, they stay late to provide advice and they keep in contact with potential recruits.

They are assistant coaches.

Although they may not get as much attention as head coaches, they are highly valued by many.

In this edition of Meet The Assistant, we profile Michigan women’s associate coach Teryn Ashley-Fitch.

Why did you get into coaching?

I got into coaching because I loved my own college experience so much. Once I knew I was done playing myself, it was a no-brainer that I would try out college coaching. I always knew I wanted to stay in the sports world, and in my opinion there is nothing quite like college tennis. It's such an individual sport but the team element is what makes it so fun to be a part of.
