The University of Richmond was one of the first schools Carly Cohen visited during her college recruiting process. The four-star senior from Pepper Pike, Ohio was immediately attracted to everything the Spiders had to offer.

“I loved the campus. I loved the atmosphere and the coaches and team. Everything just felt right,” Cohen said. “But I wasn’t ready to commit at that point.”
Cohen didn’t want to get swept up in her emotions. She knew she needed to visit other schools to use for comparison.
Cohen was considering a wide variety of colleges, including Gonzaga, Florida Gulf Coast, UConn, Penn State, Indiana and Ohio State.
After making a few more visits and finishing her summer tournament schedule, Cohen realized her early assessment was correct - nothing else matched what she found at Richmond.
Cohen is announcing her commitment to the Atlantic-10 Conference program in Virginia.
“The biggest thing for me is I felt like I really wanted to be there from the beginning,” Cohen said. “The coaches were incredibly welcoming and made it known that I was really high on their priority list. I felt like they really wanted me and that mattered to me.”
