DALLAS, Texas – When five days of top level tennis concluded Tuesday night at the ITA Division I Men's Team Indoor Championships, the purple-clad TCU fans exiting the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on the SMU campus may have been disappointed in Wake Forest's 4-3 victory, but none left wishing for a more exciting final.

The title was decided in a third set at No. 1 singles, with Wake Forest graduate transfer Stefan Dostanic clinching the Demon Deacons' second Indoor title with a 7-6(3), 5-7, 6-4 win over TCU's Jack Pinnington Jones.
Wake Forest, serving as the No. 1 seed at the SMU site, had navigated a more perilous path to the final than TCU, the No. 1 seed at the Waco site, which hosted the first two rounds before the semifinals and finals moved to Dallas.
After the Demon Deacons swept host SMU in the first round, a nail-biting 4-2 win over No. 5 seed North Carolina State in the quarterfinals and a 4-3 semifinal victory over preseason No. 1 Texas served as preparation for the tension that built during the final. Texas, the No. 3 seed at SMU, had advanced to the semifinals with a 4-1 win over the SMU site's No. 2 seed Virginia, which featured the inconceivable ending of three remaining matches simultaneously in third-set tiebreakers when Jonah Braswell won his to send the hundreds of Longhorn fans home happy.
