Tucker Taylor (WTN 21.2) wanted to find a college with a strong marine biology program. His search led him to Roger Williams University, a Division III school located in Rhode Island.
The two-star senior from Spicewood, Texas contacted the coach to arrange a visit. He was already familiar with at least one player when he arrived. One of his mutual friends, fellow Texan Cooper Brown, is a freshman on the team this year.

“I realized this would be a really great opportunity for me,” Taylor said. “I really enjoyed speaking with everyone, and the coaches and all the kids were very nice. I just really enjoyed it.”
Taylor has committed to play for the Hawks, ending a recruiting process that had a few bumps in the road. Taylor suffered a shoulder injury during his junior year and was sidelined for nearly an entire year.
“It was a long process,” said Taylor, who trains at Austin Tennis Academy. “I didn’t know if I was going to play college tennis or not because of how bad the injury was.”
