The 2023 ITA Tennis-Point Summer Circuit powered by WTN gets underway this month at locations across the country.
Created for incoming first-year and current collegiate players, the Summer Circuit allows players to experience high-level tournament competition during the summer months. Due to NCAA compliance purposes, the events are categorized as “open,” which means all current ITA members are eligible to compete, including high-level juniors and adults.
The ITA Tennis-Point Summer Circuit is held over six consecutive weekends, beginning in mid-June and continuing through July. With seven or more tournaments scheduled each week, players can elect to play one week or all seven weeks with all results being sent directly to the WTN platform.
The Summer Circuit events also serve as a qualifier for the ITA Tennis-Point National Summer Championships, showcasing 64 of the top college players. The qualifying process is based on the total number of points gained during the Summer Circuit Points Race, which attributes points to participants based on finish at each Summer Circuit tournament.
Returning NCAA Division I players who win the singles and doubles events at the Summer Championships will receive a wildcard into the main draw of the ITA Men’s & Women’s All-American Championships. Additionally, returning NCAA Division I players who are finalists at the Summer Championships will receive a wildcard into the qualifying round of the All-American Championships.
The Summer Circuit has been one of the most long-standing and successful events for collegiate athletes and high-level juniors on the ITA calendar. The circuit has grown from 35 to 55 tournaments during the past few years while doubling to over 5,000 players.
