After 16 years coaching the Bryant University men's program, Ron Gendron recently stepped down to become the new head coach for the men’s and women’s programs at Division III Nichols College.
Gendron, who took over the Bryant program in 2006, helped lead the Bulldogs to six Northeast Conference Championships and six straight NCAA Division I tournament appearances from 2014 to 2019. Gendron had a 170-151 record in Division I competition and was named the NEC Coach of the Year a conference-record seven times.
Harry Cicma recently caught up with Gendron to discuss his move.
HC: What are you most excited about with joining Nichols College as the new men’s and women’s head coach?
RG: I’m most excited about the opportunity to coach women again and truly create a family environment for the men and women’s team competing for a conference championship together. Building something for the men and women with the support of the president and the vice president is very exciting and I feel unique.
