Meet The New Coach: LSU's Danny Bryan
Share:

Danny Bryan may have left LSU to start his head coaching career, but his heart never left LSU.

The former LSU All-American and Tigers assistant was named the head coach of his alma mater last May.

Bryan returns to Baton Rouge after six seasons as the head coach at Wichita State, where he led the Shockers to their first NCAA at-large berth in a quarter century and their highest ranking (37th) since 1983.

Bryan was a two-time captain at LSU from 2003-07. He recorded 194 wins in singles and doubles to finish among the program’s all-time leaders. Bryan reached as high as No. 3 in the doubles rankings and No. 32 in singles.

As a senior in 2007, he won the SEC Indoors doubles title and was the recipient of the 2007 ITA National Arthur Ashe Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award.

What attracted you to this job?

LSU has always been my dream job. I grew up in New Orleans, played at LSU, and was the assistant coach here for eight years. I believe LSU has all the resources available to win a national championship. Also, the passion and support from the community make the university a special place to be a part of.
