Conference Highlights
As an academic institution, Carleton consistently ranks among the top 10 liberal arts colleges in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report. Carleton's class sizes are small, assuring students receive individual attention from faculty, whose first priority is teaching.

Carleton competes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), which consists of 13 NCAA Division III private institutions. Competition is strong, with several teams consistently earning regional and national rankings. The Knights are one of these teams, finishing second in the conference each year from 2004 - 2009 and ranking among the top 15 teams in the Central Region each of the past seven seasons.

During the 2010 season, Carleton won the MIAC conference tournament, earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

In 2011, the Knights finished second in the MIAC and again ended the year ranked in the top 10 in the region.
