Last year, the Stanford Cardinal shocked the world by becoming the lowest-ranked team to win an NCAA team title as the No. 15 seed. Being seeded No. 7 this year was no issue for them - as they outlasted No. 2 North Carolina in the quarterfinals before taking out No. 3 Ohio State in a titanic battle that left Senior Taylor Davidson still on the ground 30 minutes after clinching before being taken to the hospital for cramps.

Sweet Sixteen

To get to the final site at the University of Georgia, the top 16 teams hosted their own regionals, with No. 16 Baylor the only casualty when they lost to No. 20 Texas A&M.

The Sweet Sixteen had two 4-3 upsets in the top half - with No. 9 Oklahoma State taking out No. 8 Georgia Tech and No. 12 Pepperdine knocking out host No. 5 Georgia. Florida blanked Texas A&M and Vanderbilt only dropped one match against No. 13 California.

In the bottom half, North Carolina blanked No. 15 Duke, Ohio State downed No. 14 South Carolina, Stanford sent home No. 10 Michigan 4-1 and No. 6 Texas Tech advanced to their first Elite Eight in program history with a tight 4-2 decision against No. 11 Auburn.
